Technology When you’re the organized person in your family or the only one keeping track of the ever-lengthening to-do list, it can feel like your day is filled with sending texts and writing post-it notes for your loved ones so they don’t forget that thing that they definitely already forgot about. Who needs it? Fortunately for all of us, technology has come to the rescue. Google Assistant can now send notifications to your children, spouse, or anyone else included in your Family Group—the only requirement is that they have their own Google account synced to the Family Group. To get started, go to the Family Group portal to create and add members to a Family Group (you’ll need to create Google accounts for those who don’t already have one). Using their Google account name, you can create reminders using voice commands such as:“Hey Google, remind [name] that baseball practice is at 4:30 p.m.” or “Set a reminder for [name] that we’re planning family dinner on Sunday.”This feature also works with the Family Link app as well as for sending bedtime reminders and screen time limits. Google Assistant will turn your commands into notifications, which are then sent to the smartphones, tablets, and smart home devices the specified person’s Google account is signed into. The person will receive the notification at both the time the notification is created, and again for the requested reminder time.
